UWinnipeg adjusts to response Level Red restrictions

Manitoba public health officials have moved the Winnipeg metro region to Level Red of the province’s Pandemic Response System. In adherence with the government’s additional restrictions, and to continue safeguarding the UWinnipeg community’s health, these changes are being implemented immediately:

Campus recreation facilities are closed to all users except for pre-approved classes in the Collegiate and the Gupta Faculty of Kinesiology & Applied Health. Mask use is required at all times.
Students should not remain on campus unless they are attending classes or labs, or require the use of a computer workstation. Those without approval to be on campus are asked to stay home.
New requests for campus access will not be considered at this time.
Physical distancing is an important aspect of reducing virus transmission. UWinnipeg instructors and staff who can work remotely should do so. Those who are performing essential work and research on campus with prior approval are reminded that mask use is mandatory in all indoor public spaces.

While the rising number of new COVID-19 cases in Manitoba is concerning, the curve can be flattened if everyone does their part. Please continue adhering to the key advice from public health agencies: wash hands regularly, maintain physical distance from others, limit all non-essential activities, and stay home as much as possible — especially if you are sick.

Thank you for helping combat the spread of COVID-19.
