Vaccination and masks required for Winter Term

We are excited to continue our gradual campus reopening, which will see approximately 70% of 2022 Winter Term classes delivered in person.

The foundation of our safe and successful return has been our vaccination and mask mandates, announced before the start of Fall Term.

Please note: these mandates will remain in effect for the 2022 Winter Term.

UWinnipeg’s campus will remain closed to the general public, with access limited to those who are attending for teaching, learning, research, work, and other specifically authorized purposes. Building access will continue to be controlled at designated points. Entry will be granted only to those who have a green “campus access” sticker, which indicates proof of full vaccination.

Those who have yet to acquire their green sticker must present one-time proof of vaccination at the UWinnipeg Vaccination Verification Center (VVC), which will re-open from November 15 – 26 in the Multi-purpose Room of the Axworthy Health & RecPlex.

Upon verification, a green “campus access” sticker will be affixed to the student ID card or employee ID card (please follow link for instructions if you do not already have an ID card). The card with sticker will need to be presented at designated access points to enter campus.

See our Campus Access Process webpage for full details — including VVC hours of operation and documentation requirements.

We are firmly committed to ensuring a safe return to campus and we know that getting vaccinated is the way forward. Strengthening our vaccine mandate now will speed our return to normalcy. For additional information, please see our online FAQ, which is updated regularly as information evolves.

Best wishes for a continued safe and successful 2021-22 school year! We look forward to seeing you in the Winter Term.
