The University of Winnipeg conferred 1,217 degrees during our 122nd Convocation ceremonies.

Degrees in Arts, Science, and Business and Economics were conferred during two separate ceremonies on Monday, June 19, followed by the conferring of Education and Kinesiology and Applied Health degrees on Tuesday, June 20.

Honourees and award recipients recognized during our 122nd Convocation were:

Dr. Clayton Sandy, Honorary Doctor of Laws;
Dr. Connie Walker, Honorary Doctor of Laws;
John Olfert, Distinguished Alumni Award;
Dr. Ken McCluskey, Professor Emeritus;
Dr. Brian Stevenson, Fellowship in United College;
Colin Russell, Robin H. Farquhar Award for Excellence in Contributing to Self-Governance;
Dr. Kelly Gorkoff, Clifford J. Robson Memorial Award for Teaching Excellence;
Dr. Lisa Sinclair, Erica and Arnold Rogers Award for Excellence in Research and Scholarship; and
Lee Hong, Stars of Spence Street Prize.

In addition to our honourees and award recipients, three outstanding students were selected as Spring Convocation Valedictorians:

Shae Torres, Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Psychology;
Simon DePasquale, Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Biology; and
Cameron Adams, Bachelor of Education in History and Bachelor of Arts in Indigenous Languages.

The entire University of Winnipeg community congratulates the spring Class of 2023 on their achievements and wishes them the best in their future endeavours.
