The Golden Key International Honour Society (GKS) has granted UWinnipeg’s fourth year physics student Gabriel Chernitsky the 2013 Research Grant. Chernitsky is a member of the GKS.
“Gabriel is an excellent student with a thirst for knowledge and real talent in research,” expressed his professor and adviser Dr. Andrew Frey. “It’s a pleasure to work with him and see the beginnings of his career in science.”
The GKS recognizes students with high academic standing and this grant assists members in continuing to conduct thesis research and/or present their research at professional conferences. Chernitsky is one of only eight who garnered this grant from 99 submissions.
“It has been a huge honour to obtain this grant and earn this recognition from GKS,” said Chernitsky. “Doing research in Physics has been an amazing experience. I began working as a research student last summer and this grant gave me the motivation to continue in my field of study.”
The GKS is an international honour society that has helped future leaders make valuable connections and reach their goals. The UWinnipeg chapter of the Golden Key International Honour Society was established at UWinnipeg last fall. Membership is extended to undergraduate students in the top 15 % of their class.
