Join France’s Ambassador to Canada, Mr. Nicolas Chapuis as he shares his insights and addresses this question: Will the Paris climate conference shift the world towards a low-carbon economy?
The 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference will be held in Paris from November 30 to December 11. The goal is to achieve a binding and universal agreement on climate, from all the nations of the world.

BIO:
Mr. Chapuis has held successive posts in Peking, Boston, Singapore, Shanghai (as Consul General), London (as Cultural Counsellor and director of the United Kingdom Alliance française), and Ulan Bator (as Ambassador). He has translated a number of Chinese texts and he wrote an essay, entitled Tristes automnes [Sad autumns], in 2001. He was assigned the position of Prefect of the Département of Hautes-Alpes, in France, in 2009–2010. Upon his return to the Quai d’Orsay in December 2010, he coordinated the WikiLeaks mission at the Direction de la Prospective, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ organization dedicated to policy planning, before becoming the Chief Information Officer on July 1st, 2011. He was named Ambassador of France to Canada on January 9th, 2015. Nicolas Chapuis studied at Lycée Condorcet and St Paul’s School in Concord, New Hampshire. He earned a bachelor’s degree and he pursued further study of the Chinese and Mongolian languages at the Institut national des langues et civilisations orientales (INALCO). He also studied history at Université Paris VII. He began working for the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in September 1980, when he was sent to Peking to work as the press attaché. In November 1982, he passed the national examination for French diplomats specializing in Asian affairs.
