The University of Winnipeg welcomes Allan Gregg, one of Canada’s most recognized and respected senior research professionals and social commentators, as he presents: Religion, Reason, and the Common Good on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 from 7:00-9:00 pm in Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall.
Allan Gregg will be speaking about what he has called the “assault on reason” in public policy formation, and the prevailing attitude in Ottawa towards science, statistics, evidence-based policy making, the environment, and rational compromise.
Gregg is a pioneer in the integration of consulting, public-opinion research, public affairs and communications. He not only has an intimate knowledge of the dynamics of policy-making but also a deep understanding of cultural change and the communications processes necessary to forge a public consensus around government and business initiatives. He is a regular participant on CBC’s “At Issue” panel on Thursday nights, is the host of the popular and respected TVO talk show, “Allan Gregg in Conversation,” and is a frequent contributor to newspapers and magazines.
This event is being co-sponsored by The University of Winnipeg’s Department of Political Science and The Knowles-Woodsworth Centre for Theology and Public Policy.
