WINNIPEG, MB – UWSA Vice-President Internal & Sustainability Officer Andrée Forest is planning to change the world one training session at a time. She has been selected as one of three Manitoba representatives at the All Climate Reality Canada training conference offered by the Honourable Al Gore, former Vice-President of the United States and a Nobel Prize Laureate. Forest will join 800 presenters from over 20 countries in San Francisco, California, where the conference runs for the next three days.
“The University’s goal to respect Kyoto targets needs participation by the entire university community,” expressed Forest. “We all need to understand climate change and how we can make a difference. This program led by Al Gore will allow me to thoughtfully present this information to help the community participate in change. I believe this will be a great asset in furthering the discussion on campus and in Winnipeg.”
Forest will be trained by Gore and some of the world’s top climate scientists on the technique and the necessary tools to deliver informative and motivating presentations on the impacts of — and solutions to — climate crises. After the training she will deliver presentations on climate change over the course of the year, free of charge, as part of All Climate Reality Canada.
Conference participants represent a wide range of backgrounds and ages, and include students, lawyers, university professors, business leaders, environmental consultants, engineers, professionals from diverse sectors, and climate scientists.
Funding support for the Manitoba delegation is provided by the Province of Manitoba.
