WINNIPEG, MB – Score some pancakes, show off your puck prowess, meet some NHL alumni and celebrate the return of the Winnipeg Jets all day this Friday, October 7, 2011 at The University of Winnipeg’s Spence Street Promenade.
UWinnipeg is teaming up with CBC Manitoba to host Hockey Day On Campus, a free event open to everyone, with events running from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm. CBC Radio One, 89.3 FM will be broadcasting live – Information Radio in the morning and Up to Speed in the afternoon.

HOCKEY DAY ON CAMPUS:
7:30 to 9 am Free pancake breakfast provided by UWinnipeg’s Diversity Foods.
10 am to noon Test your hockey skills – $1 a shot
Proceeds to support UWinnipeg’s Inner-City Wesmen. Founded in 2007, the program now attracts about 90 neighbourhood boys and girls to play basketball at the Duckworth Centre, aged 14-18. The Inner City Wesmen program is supported through private donations.
1:30 to 5:30 pm Street hockey tournament – 3-on-3 teams.
There is no fee to participate but teams must pre-register.*
