Growing the digital agriculture industry

New video showcases collaborative digital agriculture project

The University of Winnipeg’s partnership with Enterprise Machine Intelligence and Learning Initiative (EMILI) was recently featured at a virtual Agriculture Enlightened conference aimed at advancing collaboration between industry and academia. 

In 2019, UWinnipeg, in partnership with EMILI, received $2.4 million from Western Economic Diversification and $250,000 from a Weston Seeding Food Innovation Grant for a cutting-edge project that will transform food production.

Dr. Christopher Bidinosti, Department of Physics, and Dr. Christopher Henry, Department of Applied Computer Science, are leading the multi-disciplinary project. Their team is creating a labelled data set of images they plan to make publicly available to encourage innovation in academia and industry.
