The University of Winnipeg has launched Crossings Volume IV, the exciting peer-reviewed, multidisciplinary, academic student journal showcasing outstanding undergraduate and graduate research in the humanities and social sciences.
This year’s volume is really a huge achievement.

Twelve UWinnipeg students across different disciplines contributed to the journal. The essays reflect the diversity of students and their interests, and cover a range of topics including the dataist moment, Kierkegaard, Shakespeare, Treaty 1, and Transfeminist Care Ethics, to list a few.
“This year’s volume is really a huge achievement,” said Dr. Jane Barter, Chief Editor of Crossings. “Much of it was produced under the less-than-ideal conditions of COVID-19, and yet the students and their faculty mentors managed to produce relevant and timely scholarly works that is reflexive of just how much we need the humanities at a time like this.”
The Editorial Committee will be soliciting articles and book reviews for Volume V of Crossings, scheduled to be published in 2021. The Committee invites undergraduate and graduate student work in the humanities and social sciences, creative arts, interdisciplinary studies, and projects pertaining to Black, Indigenous and People of Colour (BIPoC) scholarship. Crossings is also interested in work by BIPoC students working in the field of Critical Race Studies, in all its disciplinary and thematic iterations.
The Committee will accept articles in all languages taught at UWinnipeg. They should be 10-14 pages long (Times New Roman, Font 12, double-spaced). Style guides should be APA, MLA, or Chicago (Turabian).
Submissions are due January 29, 2021. Students are welcome to submit any original paper from previous course work. Papers can be submitted to the Crossings portal.
