Congratulations to UWinnipeg’s Diversity Foods Services for winning another award this week, from Food Matters Manitoba.
Manitoba Minister Jim Rondeau, Healthy Living, Youth and Seniors, presented six Golden Carrot Awards to local community food champions to mark World Food Day on October 16th.
Chef Ben Kramer and Diversity Food Services received the Golden Carrot Award for “helping to revolutionize campus food services at The University of Winnipeg, by providing sustainable, affordable, fair and delicious foods.”
In April, Kramer and his team won the 2010 Winnipeg Iron Chef competition, beating out some of the finest restaurants in the city.
Food Matters Manitoba is a registered charity that engages Manitobans towards healthy, sustainable and fair food for all by cultivating community food skills, carrying out public education and forming partnerships with other community groups.
