Grey Cup events come to UWinnipeg

The University of Winnipeg campus is pleased to host the Wawanesa Street Festival and other events in the lead-up to the 112th Grey Cup, from November 13 to 15.

Events are free and open to the public. There will be plenty of fun for families, both indoors and outdoors. The outdoor street festival will include a grand entryway and many fun activities, along with food vendors, local entertainment, and a heated tent.

Exclusive Preview Grey Cup Festival

November 12 | 4 to 8 p.m.

Hosted by Grey Cup Festival and UWinnipeg Alumni

Get ready to kick off the excitement of the 2025 Grey Cup Festival with an exclusive preview event just for University of Winnipeg alumni! Join us at Tony’s Canteen in Leatherdale Hall at 4 p.m. for a reception, followed by early access to some of the festival’s most exciting events before they open to the public. Registration is required. Must be a UWinnipeg alum. Tickets are limited and available for you and one guest.

Free pancake breakfast

November 14 and 15

The Calgary Grey Cup Committee is hosting a free pancake breakfast on November 14 and 15 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Spence Street by the Duckworth Centre. All are welcome to attend.

Canada Life Family Zone and Telus CFL Fan Experience

November 13 to 15

Located in the Axworthy Health & RecPlex, the free Canada Life Family Zone will be an interactive, fun, and inclusive space for all ages. Fans from across the league can test their football skills in exciting drills, enjoy interactive games and activities, and explore sponsor activities.

Step into the ultimate fan experience! Test your skills in one (or all five) challenges, including passing, catching, running, vertical jump, and of course the 40-yard dash. Don’t leave before stepping on stage and getting drafted by your favourite team! Free and open for fans of all ages.

Whether you’re a die-hard football fan or just looking for a fun day out, the TELUS CFL Fan Experience and Canada Life Family Zone has something for everyone. Don’t miss out on this opportunity to connect with the league and fellow fans in an unforgettable, action-packed event.

Santa Claus Parade Block Party

November 15 | 4 to 5 p.m.

Hosted by the Faculty of Business and Economics and the Indigenous Chamber of Commerce, this is the first-ever Santa Claus Block Party. Come visit us on Portage Ave. between Vaughn and Kennedy for some holiday cheer and a tasty treat!

The parade is Winnipeg’s longest-running free community event, established in 1909. The lights, excitement, and entertainment of this magical event have made it a favourite holiday tradition.
