WINNIPEG, MB – UWinnipeg alumni and revered entertainers Fred Penner (LLD ’95, BA ’70) and Robin Chestnut (BA ’98) will perform at the 40th Anniversary Homecoming birthday party at the Charter Day Picnic, Sat. Sept. 15 at 12:00 Noon. This event celebrates the signing of UWinnipeg’s Charter 40 years ago with all the party favors including yummy birthday cake. The event details are:

Popular entertainer and songwriter Penner is synonymous with excellent family fun. Known for his song The Cat Came Back, he also starred in the children’s television show Fred Penner’s Place on CBC for a dozen years. Penner has entertained children across the country and around the world for years. In 1991 he was honored with the Order of Canada for his work.
Canadian Juggling Champion Chestnut is known for his humor and unique entertaining style. Charming and witty with a dose of sarcasm, he is able to entertain his way into the hearts of any audience. Daring to be different, Chestnut’s tales will leave even the toughest audiences laughing, and applauding.
