The University of Winnipeg is title sponsor for the 2007 IIHF World Women’s Hockey Championship Fan Fest, which will help kick off the 20 game tournament starting April 3 in Winnipeg and Selkirk.
The Fan Fest will take place on the main floor of the Winnipeg Convention Centre March 31 and April 1, 2007. The two-day event will bring together fans of all ages to celebrate the tournament and the sport of hockey in Canada. It will feature rare memorabilia from the Hockey Hall of Fame, stars of the past and present, interactive games and information technology all surrounding the World Championship and the sport of hockey.
All members of Team Canada will make a special appearance at the Fan Fest for a pep rally between 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on April 1. This will be the only scheduled public opportunity to meet and greet the whole team during the World Championship.
There is no admission to the Fan Fest upon presentation of any World Championship game ticket. Fan Fest runs from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on March 31, and Noon to 6:00 p.m. on April 1.
