At the annual Dragon Boat Races held September 8, 9, and 10, 2006, UWinnipeg’s dragon boat team the Rowed Scholar Ship raised nearly $4,000 for cancer care and research. More than 20 University of Winnipeg faculty and staff took part in the fundraiser, rowing their way to a respectable best time of 2:44 minutes. Congratulations to the team and to all those who helped raise money for this important cause!
The dragon boaters would also like to extend a big-thank you to all the UWinnipeg students, staff, and friends who came out to cheer on the paddlers, and to Gaspards, who donated the mortarboards to the stylish team uniform.
