The University of Winnipeg was ranked among the best in the country by students in a new Maclean’s magazine survey released June 19, 2006. Well known for its annual review of Canadian universities which it releases each fall, this year, Maclean’s decided to conduct a survey of the students themselves to see how they rank the quality of education they are receiving. The University of Winnipeg did “extremely well,” according to Tony Keller, Maclean’s managing editor of special projects. “What we found was small, undergraduate focused universities tended to do better than large, research universities,” he said. “[The University of Winnipeg] is one of the leaders of that trend.”
