Hundreds of Manitoba high school students will descend upon The University of Winnipeg campus for the week of April 24-28, 2006. The University of Winnipeg’s 23rd Enrichment Mini-Course (EMC) Program will see the students examining such diverse topics as the influence of psychoanalysis on pop culture; morality and immorality in the Nazi years; the attraction of the black hole theory; and, the psychology behind Led Zeppelin’s music. UWinnipeg’s EMC Program is designed to introduce exceptional high school students to the possibilities and advantages of higher education.
Launched in 1984 in response to a request by school divisions, EMC gives their most promising students a taste of the university experience. Over the years, this unique program has provided more than 10,000 students from across the province with a glimpse into their post-secondary future.
