Students at The University of Winnipeg have elected their representatives for the 2004-2005 academic year. The University of Winnipeg Students’ Association (UWSA) Board of Directors will begin their term on April 20, 2004, at the conclusion of the Student Association’s Annual General Meeting.
The 2004-2005 UWSA Executive Directorship includes:
President: Sarah Amyot
Vice-President (Advocate): Joey Jakob
Co-Vice-Presidents (Student Services): Caitlin Brown & Roselyn Nkhata
Along with the executive directorship, students also chose 11 new directors for the UWSA Board. They are:
Arts Director: Ewald Friesen
Cdn. Federation of Students Liaison: Mathew Gagne
Community Liaison: Kate Sjoberg
Director of Student Living: Ken Wickstrom
Environmental Ethics Director: Michelle Hamilton
International Students Liaison: Rod Beilfuss
Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered* Director: Craig Ross
Part-time/Mature Students Director: Tony Hart
Recreation & Athletics Director: Patricia Tomczyk
Science Director: Tammy Lavy
Status of Women Director: Ginger Boyer
Students also voted “yes” in a referendum to introduce a $4 per student per year fee to fund The Uniter, the student newspaper, with the goal of being autonomous of the UWSA.
