UWinnipeg Alumni Take Centre Stage at MTC

WINNIPEG, MB– The entire cast of professional actors in the Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre’s production of Miracle on South Division Street are graduates of UWinnipeg’s Department of Theatre and Film. Tricia Cooper, Stefanie Wiens, Debbie Maslowsky, and Cory Wojcik have received rave reviews for their “solid performances”, “snappy comic timing”, “credible chemistry”, and “comic punch”. This heart-warming, holiday comedy runs until Saturday, December 15.

Miracle on South Division Street tells the story of the Nowaks, who have felt special ever since the Virgin Mary made an appearance in the family barbershop on Christmas Eve. Clara now takes care of her father’s beautiful statue of the Blessed Mother, and shares the story of the miracle with all who pass by. But Clara’s daughter is about to reveal a family secret, one that will have the Nowaks questioning both their faith and their identity.”We are so proud of our graduates,” said Tim Babcock, UWinnipeg Theatre and Film Chair. “The fact that all of these working professionals began their training at UWinnipeg underlines the quality and value of our program.” UWinnipeg alumni are also part of the production team, including assistant stage manager Michelle Lagasséand apprentice stage manager Jessica Freundl,along with designer Brian Perchaluk.
