WINNIPEG, MB – First-year university students seeking guidance on their post-secondary path can get direction at UWinnipeg’s 2013 Orientation, First Steps for First Year, which runs August 26-29 beginning each day at 8:30 am. Orientation is a great first step for new students to get their bearings at The University of Winnipeg.

Kick start your morning with a free continental breakfast, followed by presentations, fun activities, tours and information sessions about anything and everything a new student would need to know about first year university at UWinnipeg. Come to Orientation and get your “To Do List” done before classes start.

Students learn about the campus and the services offered and familiarize themselves on how to get around the university.

There are also information sessions geared to adult learners, Indigenous  students, international students, students moving into residence for the first time, and students with medical conditions or who require accessibility services.

“We are thrilled to welcome new students for Orientation 2013,” expressed Jan Byrd, Executive Director, Wellness and Student Life, UWinnipeg. “We want to support students and their families with information and resources, so that they are prepared to begin their academic journey at UWinnipeg.”

Orientation 2013 is an excellent way to get to know the University — the staff, services, campus, and atmosphere that makes UWinnipeg unique. Although participation is not mandatory, it is strongly encouraged.
