Throughout the year, we share many stories celebrating the achievements of women in science. We are proud to highlight stories of students and faculty members like Cassidy Lamirande, Gracie Grift, Dr. Sara Good, Monalisa Abas, and Dr. Sanoji Wijenayake, all of whom are doing incredible work in the field.
UWinnipeg student Cameron Adams is one of 88 finalists chosen from across Canada and around the world for the McCall MacBain Scholarships at McGill University. He is currently completing a Bachelor of Arts in Indigenous Studies and a Bachelor of Education.
Dr. Darshani Kumaragamage, Department of Environmental Studies and Sciences, and her research team are exploring how soil amendments can reduce the amount of phosphorus released from agricultural land and into waterways during the spring melt.

That’s what Faculty of Graduate Studies students will be challenged to do during The University of Winnipeg’s Three-Minute Thesis (3MT) competition on Friday, March 3 in Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall.

When the holiday season arrives, Diversity supports a variety of local organizations. In addition to catering Wii Chiiwaakanak’s annual Holiday Dinner on campus, it also makes large seasonal donations to food banks across Winnipeg. Diversity also has also been assisting Agape Table’s Easter, Thanksgiving, and holiday dinners for a decade.
Jessica Boucher-Cowie, Daniel Nychuk, and Amber Balan are half of the six recipients of the $3,000 National Indigenous Economic Education Foundation Scholarship, which is awarded annually by the Council for the Advancement of Native Development Officers.
