Bell ‘buzz’ on The New Middle East

Michael Bell is the former Canadian ambassador to Egypt, Jordan, Israel & the Palestinian territories

WINNIPEG, MB – Former Canadian ambassador to Egypt, Jordan, Israel and the Palestinian territories Michael Bell, will be speaking on The New Middle East at The University of Winnipeg on Thursday, March 24, 2011 at 12:30pm in Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall., (515 Portage Ave.), as part of The University of Winnipeg’s Bonnycastle Lecture Series.

“With the quickly changing political landscape of the Middle East having this seasoned diplomat share his knowledge with our students on campus is an honour and is timely and relevant during this historical time,” says Lloyd Axworthy, UWinnipeg President & Vice Chancellor.

Quickly Changing Political Landscape
Michael Bell is currently the Paul Martin (Sr.) Senior Scholar on International Diplomacy at the University of Windsor, where he teaches on the law and politics of the modern Middle East. He is also engaged in a major study on the future governance of Jerusalem’s Old City.

Bell has been a contributor to the Globe and Mail. He has also published in the Literary Review of Canada, the Behind the Headlines series of the Canadian Institute of International Affairs, Idea’s: the Arts and Science Review of the University of Toronto, the International Journal, and the Journal of International Law and International Relations.
