Bill Wedlake Wins Dallis Beck Good Guy Award

WINNIPEG, MB – The Manitoba Sportswriters Sportscasters Association last night named former University of Winnipeg Athletic Director Bill Wedlake the winner of its Dallis Beck Good Guy Award. The association presented Wedlake with the honor at its annual awards dinner at the Delta Hotel.

Exceptional Service
Wedlake won the award for his “exceptional service and guidance to the provincial sports media.”

MSSA member Ed Dearden commented on Wedlake’s dedication to sports in the province over an illustrious 40-year career that included his time as boys’ basketball head coach at St. John’s High School, men’s basketball head coach of the Winnipeg Wesmen and his service as athletic director at The University of Winnipeg.
