New on-line system makes life easier for UWinnipeg students

WINNIPEG, MB – New and returning students at The University of Winnipeg are overwhelmingly electing to use a new on-line service called WebAdvisor that allows them to:

*Search for courses
*Apply on-line
*Register for classes
*Pay tuition and fees
*Obtain their schedules

In the first week of WebAdvisor service, approximately 1,400 first year students successfully registered, most of them from the comfort of their homes, according to UWinnipeg Registrar, Colin Russell. “Students have moved from being “in-line” to “on-line” and it’s going incredibly well,” said Russell. “We anticipate that we will accommodate 9,000 students with on-line registration by the end of August.” Returning students register on-line in a staggered, tier system over the next month.

“I successfully registered for first time classes in the College of Arts. The online system worked great!” emails a new UWinnipeg student from her home in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan. “I see in the documentation that I should have an advisor help me with course selection. But the guide is so clear that I didn’t have any questions.”
