The Wesmen will be celebrating National Championship Night on Friday, September 28, 2007. The celebration will begin at 7:00 p.m. with a National Championship ring presentation and the raising of the 2006-07 CIS Men’s National Volleyball Championship banner. The Wesmen will battle the Regina Cougars in a pre-season match following the ceremony. Tickets are available on Friday night at the ticket booth on the second level of the Duckworth Centre.
That evening will also be “Uniform Give Away Night”. One lucky volleyball team in attendance will win a full set of 12 uniforms for their team compliments of Saxon Athletics, Team Outfitters and the University of Winnipeg. The evening will begin with a special exhibition match between two local high schools. At 5:30 p.m. prior to the Wesmen-Cougar match, the Darwin School S1 (Grade 9) team will take on the Dakota Collegiate S1 (Grade 9) team. Parents and players are invited to stay for the ceremony and match afterwards.
