The University of Winnipeg’s Global College presents Dialogue on the Middle East featuring Patrick Martin, Comment Editor of the Globe & Mail and former Middle East correspondent and foreign editor; with moderator Jim Carr, President and CEO of the Business Council of Manitoba.
Martin will speak on the subject of Islam’s growing militancy in the context of Iran’s development of nuclear weapons and the rise of Lebanon’s Hezbollah. He will bring his knowledgeable perspective on the potency of Iraq’s Shia militias, the popularity of the Palestinain Hamas movement and why Islam’s political clout has ascended to new heights. The question is: How should Israel and the West respond?
