Doors Open Winnipeg will take place May 13 & 14, 2006, a special event which offers the opportunity for the public to explore Winnipeg’s built treasures–free! From the old to the new, participants will have the chance to discover the extraordinary architecture and untold stories of over 35 buildings in downtown Winnipeg and Saint Boniface, including The University of Winnipeg.

“Our city has a rich and colourful history,” said UWinnipeg President Lloyd Axworthy. “Doors Open Winnipeg is an incredible opportunity for all of us to get out and see landmark architecture and to discover the stories behind Winnipeg’s historic buildings. UWinnipeg is proud to be part and to open the doors of Wesley Hall to the community.”

Today at the University, Doors Open was kicked off with the unveiling of a School Banner project with Arthur A. Leach school and The University of Winnipeg Faculty of Education students. The banners are seen here behind Dr. Axworthy.
