Exams Affected By Power Outage

Emergency Update (Downtown Power Outage) #2

Power was restored at the UWinnipeg campus by 6:30 p.m. this evening. By approximately 9:00 p.m., campus Internet, Web Advisor, printing, and all networks were back up; however, Library systems will not be restored until Friday morning.

It is expected that all exams on Friday (December 14) will proceed as scheduled.

For students who were unable to write exams Thursday evening because they did not receive adequate, accurate or timely information regarding the rescheduling of their exams, alternative arrangements will be made. Further information will be communicated on Friday.

Emergency Update (Downtown Power Outage) #1

At approximately 4:15 pm this afternoon, the Downtown district at Portage Ave. and Colony St. experienced a power outage.

A number of University of Winnipeg buildings were affected including:

• The Buhler Centre;
• Centennial Hall;
• Lockhart Hall;
• The Duckworth Centre;
• The Rice Building; and,
• the AnX

Manitoba Hydro has advised the University that that power will not be restored to the area until at least 6:30 pm this evening.

All exams scheduled for this evening will proceed as scheduled, with the following exceptions (new times and locations indicated below):

Alternative arrangements will be made and alternative times scheduled for students who did not receive adequate, accurate or timely information regarding the rescheduling of their exams.

The University will be providing updates on its website, via twitter and facebook to advise of further changes.
