UWinnipeg’s Third Annual Student Film Festival

The University of Winnipeg Department of Theatre and Drama presents its third annual University of Winnipeg Student Film Festival Wednesday, April 20 through Friday, April 22, 2005 at Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall (3rd Floor Centennial Hall) at the University of Winnipeg. Admission is free and all events are open to the public.

The highly successful film festival features screenings, a film presentation and Q&A with award-winning Winnipeg filmmaker Sean Garrity, as well as the chance to be first to see works by hot new filmmakers.

More than 25 student-made films from throughout Manitoba will compete for awards in the categories of Best Screenplay, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Director, and Best Film. The Awards Jury will be comprised of local professionals and audience members will have their say as they vote for Audience Favourite.

Screenings:
Wednesday, April 20, 2005 and Thursday, April 21, 2005 from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Gala Evening:
Friday, April 22, 2005 at 7:00 p.m.

  • World premiere of Roommates, a half hour drama produced by senior UWinnipeg Filmmaking students
  • Special guest Sean Garrity will show clips from his most recent film, followed by a Q&A
  • Awards Presentation and Screening of the Festival’s award-winning films
  • Closing reception

All events will take place at The University of Winnipeg in Eckhardt-Gramatté Hall (3rd Floor, Centennial Hall). Admission is free and all events are open to the public.
