Global Forum attracts leading thinkers

WINNIPEG, MB – In just a few short weeks, a roster of leading global thinkers will gather in Winnipeg to focus their attention on the digital society, and examine both the challenges and opportunities new technologies present.

The Paris-based Global Forum is an internationally recognized think-tank for exchange and networking among governments and private and public organizations, and for the first time, this important conference is being held in Canada on October 2 and 3, 2017. It is presented by Economic Development Winnipeg and The University of Winnipeg’s Faculty of Business and Economics.

Discussion topics tackle pressing issues such as the future of the Cloud, security and privacy in the digital economy, and trends in artificial intelligence.

Delegates from 30 countries will hear from and network with expert panelists including:
Paul Mahon, CEO  – Great West Life;  Jason Olson, Director of International External Affairs – AT&T, USA;  Julia Glidden – General Manager, IBM Global, USA; Samia Melhem – Lead ICT Policy Specialist, World Bank Group; Bror Salmelin – Advisor to the DG for Innovation Systems, DG CONNECT, European Commission; Stephane Martens – Senior Project Manager, Canadian Space Agency, Canada and Maurice Moloney – Executive Director and CEO, Global Institute for Food Security, among others.
