Greening Our City – Free Public Forum on June 27

Everyone is welcome to attend a free public forum entitled “Greening Our City” from noon to 1:00 pm on Monday, June 27, 2011. The forum takes place at 599 Portage Avenue in conjunction with the grand opening of The University of Winnipeg’s Richardson College for the Environment and Science Complex.

How can we become a greener Winnipeg and inner-city? Be part of the conversation.

JINO DISTASIO, DIRECTOR, INSTITUTE OF URBAN STUDIES, UNIVERSITY OF WINNIPEG

Becoming a sustainable community is about more than creating energy efficient buildings – it is about sharing resources and opportunities in a way that is inclusive and equal. It is about connecting people and strengthening neighbourhood decision-making. How can we become a greener Winnipeg and inner-city? Be part of the conversation.

Jino Distasio works extensively in Winnipeg’s inner- city as well as researching Canadian and global urban issues. He also serves on numerous boards and recently become a member of The Canadian Commission for UNESCO.
