A Habitat for Humanity building project that was hosted on the front lawn of UWinnipeg’s campus (Portage Commons) last July has come to fruition.

Earlier this month, Dr. Annette Trimbee, UWinnipeg President and Vice-Chancellor, and Dr. Jino Distasio, Vice-President, Research and Innovation, were on hand to help present the new owners — Kyle, Sasha, and their daughter Hailey — with the keys to their new Habitat for Humanity Winnipeg home. Kyle and Sasha participated in building their ready-to-move house on campus last summer, along with a number of UWinnipeg faculty and staff volunteers.

Kyle, Sasha, and Hailey’s new home is one of ten that were constructed by Habitat for Humanity in Winnipeg during 2016.
