Interactive, Thought-Provoking Evening Featuring Bill Moore-Kilgannon

WINNIPEG, MB – The Social Justice Coalition presents an interactive, thought-provoking evening lecture on The Erosion of Public Services presented by Bill Moore-Kilgannon, Executive Director, Public Interest Alberta on Thursday, February 3, 2011 from 7:00-8:30 pm, University of Winnipeg, Room 2M70, (515 Portage Avenue).

“People have to be aware of the connection between the decisions politicians make and how those decisions affect their lives and communities,” explains Moore-Kilgannon. “This interactive event can assist in people in making the connections and its is important to remember that democracy is not just about voting once every four years, it’s about everything in between.”

Bill Moore-Kilgannon is the Executive Director of Public Interest Alberta. Prior to joining Public Interest Alberta, he worked in Ottawa as the Director of Campaigns and Communications of the Council of Canadians from 2001-2004 and he was the Executive Director of the Parkland Institute at the University of Alberta from 1997-2001.

He was the coordinator of the Global Visions Festival from 1992-1997 and is a documentary video maker (his most recent production is a video about the music, art and theatre of street children in Nicaragua). He studied Canadian and Latin American history, political science and economics at the University of Alberta and l’Université de Sherbrooke, and he speaks French and Spanish. He also worked as a forest fire fighter in Alberta.
