Rot and Roll Compost Garden Party

Everyone is invited to the `Rot and Roll’ Compost Garden Party, a free concert featuring  Jane’s Party , Canada’s newest folk-pop sensation, on Thursday July 29, 2010 at 6:00 pm on the Spence Promenade. The festivities celebrate composting, veggie gardening and the community’s involvement. Everyone is encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and a donation for the food bank and “celebrate our love of the Earth.”

“Our `rot and roll’ Compost Garden Party is a way to recognize Winnipeg’s roots in the Plant a Row • Grow a Row program nationally and the incredible edibles that are now being grown and shared with folks in need across Canada,” said Jim Ferguson, Green Manitoba. “We look forward to welcoming everyone to a great evening of fun and terrific music.”

This is the first tour for Jane’s Party in Manitoba and Western Canada. The four-member band is gaining an ever-growing reputation in Ontario and Atlantic Canada as the “folk-pop darlings”. They will be playing hits from their album, The Garage Sessions, known for catchy hooks, bouncy beats and sweet vocal harmonies.

`Rot and Roll’ on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at 6:00 pm at UWinnipeg‘s Spence Promenade.

The event is supported by Green Manitoba, SunChips, Hidden Valley Ranch dressings and the Compost Council of Canada.
