They will be discussing Manitoba’s urban and small-centre experiences in resettling Syrian refugees.

Regional Connections is a one-stop-shop that provides services, resources, and referrals for newcomers living in south central Manitoba. The Winnipeg Immigration Partnership helps create a community that has a strong desire and capacity to receive newcomers and make them feel at home.

The Honourable Jim Munson is Chair, and the Honourable Salma Ataullahjan is Deputy Chair, of the Standing Senate Committee on Human Rights. They will be speaking about the Committee’s 2016 Report ‘Finding Refuge in Canada: A Syrian Resettlement Story.’
