Dear Valued Members of the University of Winnipeg Community,
I am writing to advise the UWinnipeg community that Dr. Todd Mondor, President and Vice-Chancellor, is no longer with the University, effective immediately.
On behalf of the Board, I want to acknowledge Dr. Mondor’s contributions during his tenure, and we extend our sincere appreciation for his service to the University.
The Board of Regents wants to assure our community that this decision was reached after careful consideration and extensive deliberation. The Board feels that as we move to implement our recently announced strategic plan, it is in the best interest of the University and the broader community to refocus our leadership.
The Board has already initiated a process to appoint interim leadership in the coming weeks. While this process is underway, Dr. Pavlina Radia will provide leadership in an acting capacity.
Guided by our mission of excellence in post-secondary education, we will also begin to contemplate a fulsome search for our next President and Vice-Chancellor.
The Board of Regents remains committed to the value of community engagement in that process: cultivating respectful, reciprocal, and mutually beneficial relationships within and beyond the University. To do so, we will ensure we contemplate collaboration and engagement with stakeholders, students, faculty, staff, and the broader community. Our next leader will represent a new chapter at the University, and we will take the time to do so with the support and input of our community.
I want to personally assure you that during this transitional time, our focus will actively remain on maintaining stability, supporting our academic mission, and ensuring that students, faculty, and staff experience no disruption to their work or studies.
We commit to you today that we will provide open and transparent communication with our community as this process moves forward.
Thank you for your continued dedication to the University of Winnipeg and for the vital role each of you plays in strengthening our institution.
Sincerely,
Michelle Pereira
Chair, Board of Regents
