The university is deeply concerned by Russia’s military attacks in Ukraine, the impact on the country’s citizens and international stability, and closer to home the impact on Manitoba’s Ukrainian community.
We have a long-standing and deep relationship with the Ukrainian community and stand alongside calls for a quick de-escalation and resolution of this war.
News of this attack is very troubling. If you are concerned about loved ones in the region or are personally affected by the evolving conflict, supports are available:
For students: Student Counselling Services is available to provide support and counselling to students. University counsellors are working off site, but are available to provide telephone support. Please email studentwellness@uwinnipeg.ca or call 204.988.7611 to arrange a telephone meeting.
For faculty and staff: Support is available through UWinnipeg’s Employee Assistance Program, which offers a range of resources to support your mental health and well-being. Access resources through your mybluecross account.
