“Students across this University stand with Aboriginal students,” says UWSA president Chris Minaker.

At its Feb. 9 meeting, The University of Winnipeg Students’ Association (UWSA) Board of Directors voted unanimously to donate $50,000 toward the construction of the University’s new Aboriginal Students’ Centre.

“We are very pleased that The University of Winnipeg and The University of Winnipeg Foundation share this spirit of support and solidarity,” says Minaker. “It shows the rest of Manitoba that we are working for each other, together.”

“What a generous contribution from students for students to what will indeed be a legacy building project,” states Susan Thompson, President and CEO of The University of Winnipeg Foundation.
