In early May, the 13th annual Centre for Interdisciplinary Justice Studies (CIJS) conference invited academics and community members to campus for a lively dialogue on how justice intersects with food, media, research, Indigenous struggles, colonialism, sex, and contesting the police.
The Centre for Interdisciplinary Justice Studies at UWinnipeg, along with the Department of Criminal Justice and Centre for Access to Information and Justice, will be hosting the Consuming Justice Conference from May 11-13.
Two local organizations, Jib Stop and St. Boniface Street Links, will be on campus Wednesday, June 5, for a public discussion about crystal meth in Winnipeg in collaboration with Drs. Katharina Maier and Kelly Gorkoff. As part of the discussion, Maier, along with Dr. Bronwyn Dobchuk-Land, will give a presentation outlining an in-progress research project.
From May 15 - 17, scholars, students, practitioners, and community members met at The University of Winnipeg to engage in a lively dialogue about the ways justice intersects with digital, virtual, and web-based forms of social life.
Experts on the digitization of justice are gathering at UWinnipeg, May 15 - 17, for three days of free, public lectures. The conference is open to anyone interested in learning how the digital world is reshaping not just crime and control, but also the field interdisciplinary justice studies and other disciplines.
