laura-sexsmithWINNIPEG, MB –The Man in Motion, Rick Hansen’s 25th Anniversary Relay made its way across the country, and through The University of Winnipeg Campus, today, Friday, January 20 at 2:45 pm in the Riddell Atrium. Medal bearer and UWinnipeg student Laura Sexsmith passed the medal to Gail Asper, President of the Asper Foundation, the next relay team member.

“I admire Rick Hansen,” expressed Sexsmith, who majors in biology and will graduate this spring. “He is inspirational and an amazing man and I am honoured to have been selected to participate in this historic relay.”

The 25th Anniversary route is recreating the original route across Canada which included a medal exchange at UWinnipeg 25 years ago. The Community Relay will pass through the campus and proceed to the Forks and end today’s route.
