With mosquito season just around the corner and news reports of pandemic influenza and soaring rates of HIV/AIDS, the call for accurate information about infectious diseases has never been more pressing.

Seeing the need, The University of Winnipeg’s Global College and its partners, the International Centre for Infectious Diseases and the University of Manitoba, developed the week-long Summer Institute in Infectious Diseases 2005. The first of its kind, The Summer Institute is designed to advance knowledge about infectious diseases and the potential impact they may have on our local and global communities.

The public is invited to participate in two free lectures as part of the Global College Summer Institute in Infectious Diseases 2005:

TODAY – Monday, May 30, 2005
7:30 p.m.
“A Manitoba Perspective On Global Infectious Disease”

Wednesday, June 1, 2005
7:30 p.m.
