UCF Prof Brings His Expertise to UWinnipeg

WINNIPEG, MB – The University of Winnipeg’s Centre for Teaching, Learning & Technology presents a lecture on Technology Enhanced Education: Opportunities and Challenges, by Dr. Charles Dziuban, Director of the Research Initiative for Teaching Effectiveness at the University of Central Florida (UCF), on Friday, March 19, 2010, 10:00 a.m.-12:00 pm, Convocation Hall (515 Portage Ave.) This lecture is free and open to the public.

Address Emerging Trends in Education
Dziuban will address emerging trends in education and technology and their learning potential based on 14 years of research at the University of Central Florida.

Charles Dziuban has been a faculty member at University of Central Florida since 1970. He is involved in many aspects of teaching research design and statistics. He has directed initiatives on distributed learning examining student and faculty outcomes as well as gauging the impact of online courses. In 2005, Dziuban received the Sloan Consortium Award for Most Outstanding Achievement in Online Learning by an Individual.

Dziuban has co-authored books and chapters on blended and online learning including THE Handbook of Blended Learning Environments, Educating the Net Generation, and Blended Learning: Research Perspectives.

Published in Numerous Journals
Dziuban has published in numerous journals including Multivariate Behavioral Research, The Psychological Bulletin, Educational and Psychological Measurement, the American Education Research Journal, the Phi Delta Kappan, the Internet in Higher Education, the Journal of Asynchronous Learning Networks, and the Sloan-C View.
