WINNIPEG, MB – The University of Winnipeg was granted $516, 289 in Insight Grants and an Insight Development Grant by the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC). Research fields include psychology, Mennonite studies/history and economics.

Insight Grants were awarded to Beverley Fehr, Psychology – $93,027 – Self-Disclosure and Shared Activities: A Moderated Mediation Model of Friendship Satisfaction; Jeremy Frimer, Psychology – $135,690 – Reverse Engineering Moral Leadership Qualities; Royden Loewen, Mennonite Studies/History – $238,100 – Seven Points on Earth: Mennonites and Farm Culture – and an Insight Development Grant was given to Manish Pandey, Economics – $49,472 – Do Immigrants with Prior Canadian Exposure Perform Better than Those Without? An Analysis Using the Longitudinal Immigrant Database.
“This investment in social sciences and humanities research is a cornerstone to building Canada’s capacity for innovation,” said Chad Gaffield, president of SSHRC. “This research will generate knowledge about the past and present that will lead to innovative solutions for today’s most pressing issues, and improve the lives of Canadians.”
