I am writing to inform you that as a result of significant financial challenges facing the University, difficult decisions have been made to suspend the women’s soccer program and to close the English Language Program.
The women’s soccer program will not return for the 2025 season. The University will work with the affected student athletes to provide necessary support during this period of change.
Enrolment in the English Language Program (ELP) has dropped dramatically due to changes in federal policies affecting international student mobility. As a result, ELP is no longer financially viable. Individual programs currently in progress will run to completion, but no additional programming will be launched.
Although regrettable, these necessary changes are being made as part of a broader effort to ensure UWinnipeg remains financially stable while continuing to provide students with an exceptional university education.
