The University of Winnipeg community mourns the loss of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. In her honour, the University’s campus flags will be lowered to half-mast.
As Canada’s longest serving head of state, Queen Elizabeth reigned with grace and compassion for 70 years. She visited our province six times, most recently in 2010, when she dedicated a cornerstone of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights.
We will always remember and honour Queen Elizabeth’s life of selfless service. Her unwavering belief in the power of education and the potential it provides to the world’s youth was inspirational. Although it is hard to imagine the world without her, we look to continue her legacy by building a brighter future together.
