A traditional dance troupe highlights genres of Pow Wow dancing such as Grass Dance, Jingle Dress and Fancy Shawl.

Culinary Delights

The pavilion also features culinary delights created by UWinnipeg’s Diversity Catering Chef Ben Kramer (Winnipeg’s Iron Chef 2010). Kramer’s menu includes bison stew, elk burgers and smokies, bannock and jam and mixed berry crumble. Diversity is committed to using fresh, authentic local ingredients in its simplest natural form creating an ideal family friendly venue that is alcohol free.

Our Commitment to First Nations

“UWinnipeg’s partnership with DOTC and Manito Ahbee echoes our commitment to First Nations communities,” said Dr. Lloyd Axworthy, UWinnipeg’s President & Vice-Chancellor. “As an urban campus, we are known as a meeting place that encourages the community, the arts and academia to come together. Education through the sharing of culture is an engaging and interactive way to learn.”

UWinnipeg is also participating in three other pavilions at Folklorama by co-sponsoring the India Pavilion at the Heather Curling Club, and will also have a presence with information booths at the Philippine Pavilion Nayong, Pilipino at Tec Voc School and Pearl of the Orient, Philippine Pavilion, at R.B.
