Jennifer Rattray, Associate VP Indigenous, Government and Community Affairs, UWinnipeg accepts Community Star Award from Gloria Cardwell-Hoeppner, West End BIZ Executive Director

The West End BIZ has selected The University of Winnipeg as the 2011 recipient of the Community Star Award for “passion and commitment to the West End community.”

“Reaching out and connecting with their neighbours, making their campus a part of the community, and the dynamic impact in capital investment The University of Winnipeg has made to the area deserves recognition,” said Gloria Cardwell-Hoeppner, West End BIZ Executive Director.

Jennifer Rattray, Associate VP Indigenous, Government and Community Affairs, UWinnipeg accepted the award on Tuesday, November 15, 2011.

In the last several years UWinnipeg has added several new important facilities to the West End, attracting up to 2,000 people daily to its Furby-Langside campus. New facilities include the state-of-the-art Richardson College for the Environment and Science Complex and Elements-The Restaurant; the University of Winnipeg Students’ Association Daycare; and McFeetors Hall: Great-West Life Student Residence.
