Megan Fultz
WINNIPEG, MB – When 16,000 young Manitobans file into the MTS Centre on Wednesday, October 30, they will hear from extraordinary people including Martin Luther King 111 and Craig and Marc Kielburger. A recent graduate from The University of Winnipeg and current President of UWSA, Megan Fultz, will be among those taking to the stage to inspire the crowd.
“My main message to young people is that the most powerful change can be effected by upholding the principles of human rights, equality, and inclusion,” said Fultz. “We need to start in our own communities first and make conscious decisions to consistently be a part of positive social progress as well as working against systems that encourage oppression and exclusion.”
Fultz adds that We Day matters because it shows that a significant number of young people care about making the world a better place for their generation and ones to come. “We Day encourages the energy and creativity of these young people; it’s our job to help them channel that energy and use it in a productive way that is critical and analytical of the world around them,” she said.
Fultz graduated with a degree in International Development Studies and Human Rights & Global Studies from The University of Winnipeg in June 2013. She is interested in pursuing a career in international human rights law.
