For the first time in program history, the Wesmen men’s volleyball team will host the Canada West Final Four with a trip to the national championship tournament on the line.

The Wesmen will play the Saskatchewan Huskies in a conference semifinal at 5 p.m. Friday, March 7 at the Duckworth Centre. A win in that match would earn a berth in the eight-team nationals March 21-23 in Brandon.

All UWinnipeg students get in free with their student card and adult tickets are only $10.

Tickets can be found at wesmen.ca/tickets.

The Duckworth Centre will also welcome the Alberta Golden Bears and UBC Thunderbirds for the Final Four with three of the four teams advancing to nationals.

A bronze-medal match will be played on Saturday, March 8, at 5 p.m., with the championship match slated for 7 p.m.

The Wesmen are tied with Alberta and Manitoba for the most national championships but have never won a Canada West title since joining the conference in the mid-’90s. They last won a national championship in 2007.
