Wii Chiiwaakanak Open House All Welcome

The University of Winnipeg’s Wii Chiiwaaknak Learning Centre will host an open house to highlight programs for children, youth, Elders, and families in the community, and host tours on Tuesday, March 5, 2013. Everyone is welcome to attend the Open House from 1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.

Wii Chiiwaakanak means “partners” in Anishinabemowin and is an outreach initiative that provides educational, learning and capacity building opportunities in Winnipeg’s inner city.

The Centre is open during the week as well as Saturdays and each month provides 1,000 community members with free and open access to the RBC Community Learning Commons, computer classes, after school programs including; Pow wow club, Let’s Speak Ojibwe To our Kids, Change UR tune, Let’s Talk Science, preschool reading circle and cultural sharing circles for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal inner-city children, youth, and their families.
